• Funding available:
  The successful candidate will be awarded €200,000 from the National Research Agency (ANR), including at least €120,000 for the recruitment of a doctoral student or postdoctoral researcher.

• Research project:
  Maritime and port networks ensure the material continuity of the global economy, yet their functioning is increasingly undermined by cumulative, simultaneous and/or prolonged climatic, geopolitical, health, economic, and logistical crises. The literature still insufficiently addresses their systemic effects on the reconfiguration of flows, port networks, and supply chains. This project investigates the capacity of these systems to maintain their critical functions when disruptions exceed conventional adaptive capacities. Combining field surveys, remote sensing, multisource data, and modelling, the project will analyse thresholds of systemic vulnerability, the dynamics through which disruptions propagate, and differentiated resilience trajectories, at the interface between global networks, territorial vulnerabilities, and impacts on the populations and territories most exposed.

• Teaching project:
  The successful candidate will contribute to the development of an interdisciplinary and international educational programme related to the “maritime and port challenges” and “transitions, risks and hazards” themes of the Campus Polytechnique des Territoires Maritimes et Portuaires (CPTMP). This programme will focus on maritime and port systems, logistics transitions, the resilience of critical infrastructure, and territorial vulnerabilities, in connection with EUNIcoast, the G8, CPTMP partners, and the Le Havre and European economic ecosystem. The successful candidate will make a substantial contribution to the joint master’s programme, the “Joint MA in Port Management,” currently being developed within EUNIcoast. Three areas will be developed: the organisation of port and maritime networks; geopolitics, economic security, logistics continuity, and sovereignty, with a focus on analysing the risks, vulnerabilities, and strategic challenges associated with infrastructure; and GIS, remote sensing, spatial analysis, network analysis, and flow modelling.

• Context:
  The project is embedded within the institution-wide Campus Polytechnique des Territoires Maritimes et Portuaires initiative and contributes to the development and activities of the European alliance EUNIcoast, the international G8 network, and all of the University’s partners. From late 2026 onwards, the IDEES research laboratory (UMR 6266 CNRS–ULHN) will establish a cross-cutting
  maritime research programme led by the new management team of the joint research unit. This initiative aims to strengthen capacities for analysis and project development in the field of maritime and port-related issues, particularly at the laboratory’s Le Havre site.

• Scientific dissemination:
  Particular attention will be paid to the development and submission of competitive research proposals at the national, European, and international levels, in line with the laboratory’s scientific priorities, the institution’s strategy, and the priorities of its partners. This approach will contribute to enhancing the project’s scientific visibility, fostering new collaborations, and consolidating its integration into national and international research networks. The project’s results will be promoted and disseminated within the international scientific community, notably through presentations at leading congresses and conferences, as well as through publications in international peer-reviewed journals relevant to the successful candidate’s fields of research.

• Open science:
  The successful candidate and their team will be encouraged to deposit their publications and conference proceedings in HAL (hal.science) and through other dedicated channels for scientific communication. In this respect, the successful candidate will follow the institution’s Open Science Charter and Roadmap, as well as those of the CNRS (https://www.science-ouverte.cnrs.fr).

• Science and Society:
  Whether at the institutional or laboratory level, or within the framework of structuring initiatives such as the Campus Polytechnique des Territoires Maritimes et Portuaires and the EUNIcoast alliance, the successful candidate will commit to conducting their activities within a rigorous framework of science with and for society. This approach aims to strengthen dialogue between science and society, foster closer links between research and citizens and, wherever possible, ensure that research activities and findings are disseminated in an accessible manner to the general public.
