Dear IAME members and community,

On behalf of the IAME Council, we hope 2024 has started well and we are now ready to start membership renewal.

Following the decisions taken at the IAME General Assembly in Long Beach during September 2023, membership years will now run for fixed periods from the 1^st of July to the 30^th of June, instead of a rolling system which created some confusion (e.g. in terms of benefitting from the member conference rate).  This decision was taken to simplify our administration and also align membership renewal with the typical period during which conferences are held (June through September).

There are two options to obtain IAME membership – you can check your status online by either logging in:

Option 1: Online payment through the website https://www.iame.ac/subscription-plan/ , both for individual and corporate memberships. Note that if your institution has several individual members, it may be worthwhile to explore the corporate membership option which provides a significant discount per member (up to 5 individuals can benefit, and from 4 members the membership fee is lower than the individual 1 year subscription).  Note that exceptionally, bank transfer is possible, but all banking costs will need to be borne by you or your institution.

Option 2: Renewal by registering as a non-member to the IAME 2024 conference, which will then activate your membership starting July 1^st, 2024 until June 30^th, 2025 (we will however ensure a close follow-up to activate memberships once conference registration is completed with access to all services). Important: note however that this renewal in 2024 for 12 months does not grant you the membership rate of e.g. the 2025 conference (where you will be required to pay the non-membership rate to renew the annual membership going forward).  In other words, the non-member 2024 conference registration rate contains the 2024 conference at member rate + a one-year membership fee, but not the 2025 conference at member rate as your membership is renewed by paying the non-membership rate.  Registration for the Valencia 2024 conference will open soon, please follow our social media channels on LinkedIN and Facebook or visit the conference website https://iame2024.org .

In terms of transition from the previous system, this means the following:

• If you currently are a multi-year paid up individual member and your membership expires during calendar year 2024, we would ask to renew your membership before June 30^th, 2024, to avoid disruption of services/access to benefits later during the year. Important: renewal in any case will also be required to benefit from the 2024 members conference rate, so kindly renew your (multi-)annual membership in that case before you proceed to register for the conference.  Note that grace periods of three months will typically be applied after any expiration date of membership – this also allows to compensate for the duration if e.g. the conference takes place in September.
• If you currently benefit from a 1-year individual or corporate membership either bought online, or through conference participation at non-member rate at the IAME 2023 conference in Long Beach, we would likewise ask to renew you membership before June 30^th, 2024. Important: membership renewal in any case will also be required to benefit from the 2024 members conference rate, so kindly renew your membership in that case before you proceed to register for the conference. Note that grace periods of three months will typically be applied after any expiration date of membership – this also allows to compensate for the duration if e.g. the conference takes place in September.
• If you recently subscribed through the website (i.e. after December 1^st, 2023) for a one-year membership, we will extend your membership period through 30^th of June 2025 and you are allowed to register for the conference at the members-only rate.

If you are unsure of your membership status, kindly visit your membership profile on the website by logging in, or contact the secretariat at secretariat@iame.ac to verify.

Kindly note that 2024 is also an election year, so both for voting purposes and to stand as a council member or president your IAME membership needs to be valid by or on April 30^th, 2024.  Registered conference participants at the non-member rate by this date will thus also be allowed to vote.  For multi-annual members, as a transition measure, we will base eligibility on the expiration data in this transition phase.
