Dear Colleagues,

The International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) invites those individuals and organizations interested in organizing the IAME 2026 Annual Conference to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for consideration by the IAME Council.  These EOIs under the form of a substantiated e-mail or letter (max. 1000 words), containing details about the leading organizing entity or entities, key staff members, proposed location, periods, and any other relevant elements are expected by e-mail to secretariat@iame.ac and Michael.Dooms@vub.be at the latest June 21st, 2024.

Following the upcoming IAME Council meeting of June 28th, 2024, selected candidate organizers will be asked to submit a full bid by October 1st, 2024, with a decision expected by the IAME Council by November 15th, 2024.

Potential candidates are asked to take note of the Guidelines that the IAME Council has prepared in order to facilitate prospective organizers and/or institutions when preparing an annual IAME conference (from the bid to the final preparation).  Please contact the Secretariat to receive these documents (secretariat@iame.ac).

Previous conferences were held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands (2021), Busan, South Korea (2022); Long Beach, USA (2023); upcoming are Valencia, Spain (2024) and Bergen, Norway (2025).  Given the global nature of IAME, we in particular encourage potential organizers from non-European countries to consider submitting their EOI for the 2026 conference.
